This blog will focus on my interest in Music/Media and how it influences and inspires me.

Music and media are a huge influence in my life. The media I consume and the music I listen to have helped shape my understanding of the world and helped in my journey of self-expression. As a society, we all love to absorb different types of music/media and this love helps us connect with one another. Some media tell stories of struggle, others success and some are purely for our entertainment.

Music has been a huge influence on my understanding of the world and the many struggles we all face. From rap to rock, each artist has a story to tell and much like any other form of media music can be grounded in reality or an escape from it. For me, music helped me express myself through writing but also by creating instrumentations to compliment my ideas. Through a music-making program called Fl studio, I have been able to create beats and express myself through instrumentation. It’s interesting to see the growth through my music and see how far I’ve progressed and how my music has changed over the years.

Most of the music I make is for myself as I have no time to create or promote my music but I still love the process of creating a musical composition. The music I currently make is focused on a darker-sounding rap and trying to experiment with sounds to create something new. This darker sound is influenced by my love of rock and underground rap. Even though I have no plans to release any music anytime soon I still always enjoy generating ideas for potential albums, eps, or songs and fueling my creative drive by trying new things.

In terms of media, I have always loved sitcoms and comedy. I also enjoy drama or action from time to time. Marvel movies are also some of my favorites as It reminds me of being a kid and wishing to be Spider-Man swinging through the streets. Horror movies have also recently become a medium I enjoy. Horror also helps inspire some of the music I make as I like exploring different avenues of music and horror is something neglected by many artists in the rap scene. Regardless, all of these forms of media have a huge influence on my life and help to keep me entertained, laughing, or just help make simple conversations with strangers.
